Arthemia is a premium theme that was produced by the Colorlabs Project and Michael Jubel Hutagalung.

From a first glance the theme looks very sleek and professional, it includes many features such as automatic thumbnail resizing, random posts and colourful categories.

The theme includes a very advanced theme administration panel which would stop many people from ever needing to edit the code manually. Some of these features include editing the logo and changing the colour scheme of the categories.

I have been looking at the theme for a very long time, yet I still cannot figure out where the header ends. I presume the header is just the logo and navigation bar, if this is correct then the theme uses a very simple header to give effect to the rest of the theme. The nagivation bar uses drop down menus that look very good and easy to read.

Below the header you can see the headline and featured pages, these look very good and I really like how some of it has a grey background and some doesn’t as this makes each stand out. I also adore how the featured section as it scrolls through posts, it looks very good and works well.

I have never seen a theme that has the catagories where they are, or how they are done. By colourising the catagories the creator of the theme has made it look mch more like a website than a blog, which is good! It carries on in this style by including a post from each catagory in the sidebar.

I like how the content is done because it has the latest post big then all of the other posts in smaller boxes. Often each post fills the width of the content, but this has two posts side by side which I think looks quite good.

The footer consists of video posts, random posts, recent posts, most commented, most popular as well as the copyright information. I think this makes it look professional and I really like the idea of random posts, which just display the thumbnails, it is a concept that I rarely see built in to themes.

The only bad comment I have is the latest video post section. Many people I talk to who run successful blogs always say that video posts help a lot, so it is best to have the video post section near the top where everyone can see it rather than the last section on the page!

All in all I really like this theme and I believe it is well worth paying $70 for. If you want a professional looking blog then this may be the theme for you.

Revolution was designed for use as a CMS or static website, many people do not realise the power of wordpress as a static website.

There are many styles and modifications of the Revolution theme but today I shall review only the basic Revolution theme, not all of the others. The Revolution themes were created by Brian Gardner, a well respected wordpress designer. There are three different styles for the Revolution theme, these are white, black and blue.

The header is very basic and does what it needs to do. I like the magnifying glass next to the search as it reminds people that you can search the site. The navigation is very sleek and has drop down menus that look very good. Many people struggle to find templates with drop down menus that work well, this one works perfectly.

The homepage is very well structured with four sections of content and a section for links to recent posts. Most of the other pages has a sidebar which fits neatly into the content, however the actual homepage does not include a sidebar. This is probably becase it was designed to work as a website opposed to a blog. I think that the pictures of the demo really help to give the theme a sense of style, but I wonder what it would look like with different pictures.

The footer is very basic and simple, which is good as there is no need for a big stylish footer which does not fit the theme so this works very well as it follows the same style of the rest of the theme.

The only way in which I can see the theme may need improving is that the RSS icon is very small so if the user of the theme is interested in getting subscribers then placing the RSS icon in a better place and increasing the size is vital, a good place may be next to the search box in the same style as the magnifying glass.

All in all this is a very good theme which has many uses. It is very good to see a theme created for use as a static website. For just $59.95 you really cannot go wrong.

Fresh Folio is WooTheme’s second premium portfolio theme. On their website, WooThemes show many features of the theme.

-Portfolio oriented

-The template will automatically (visually) separate your blog & portfolio content, making this an amazing theme for aspiring designers, developers, artists, photographers etc.;

-Unique page templates for the portfolio, blog, blog archives, tags & search results.

-7 diverse theme styles to choose from.

-Built in Flickr and Twitter widgets to show your thoughts and photos

-Integrated Theme Options (for WordPress) to tweak the layout, colour scheme etc. for the theme;

-Optional Automatic Image Resizer, which is used to dynamically create the thumbnails and featured images;

-Widgetized Sidebars.

These features all look very good but of course they will try and make you think that, it gets them customers! I shall show you the truth about this theme.

The header looks very sleek as it has a dark background, though not quite black, which gives effect to the text and pictures that are on it. I like the way that the background has a faint glow, this is very good for giving the header a a depth that could not be easily achieved otherwise. The text on the header makes it look very different to most themes, as many use a standard layout which this one does not.

The content is displayed in such a way that it feels right, this may be due to the greyscale colours that surround it. All the important features, such as the subscribe button and comments button, are in colours that flow with the theme, while standing out.

The side bar is very good, as it compliments very well with the content but has more colour, the photo’s really make it stand out. I like the plugins that are built into the theme, such as the twitter and flickr widgets. These seem to fit very well with the theme as a whole, and they are plugins that I have not seen before so it is very good to see something new built into a theme.

Many people like big bulky footers, but I love the footer on this theme as it is simple but looks very professional. A footer is for extra information such as who made the site, the theme, when they made it and copyright.. this theme does it perfectly.

Usually I can find a lot of bad points about a theme, but with this I can find none. For only $70 this theme is well worth the money, and will make any blog look profesional.
